I was wondering today how much money there is in the world, and the results are shocking.

We are talking about nearly $37 trillion in cash and bank deposits.
But that's just the beginning — when you add all investments, derivatives, and of course cryptocurrencies, the number jumps over $1.2 quadrillion.
Crazy, right?
There are about $6.6 trillion worth of physical coins and banknotes circulating on the planet.
If you look at a broader measure of the money supply, meaning all deposits and liquid assets, we're talking about tens of trillions.
How much money is there in the world on such a scale is one question.
But a second, which interests me more — how much of that is actually in our hands?
How much of this enormous resource truly belongs to ordinary people, and how much to corporations and institutions?
That's why Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies fascinate me.
This is a new layer of how much money there is in the world that we can actually own and control.
Something to think about.
