Iran Nuclear Program | Officials Say If Attacked Again, Enrichment Will Be Raised to Weapon Grade
Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Committee spokesperson Rezaei (Mohsen Rezaei) stated that if Iran is attacked again, it may increase uranium enrichment to 90%, indicating that the uranium material has reached the weapons-grade threshold, and this plan will be discussed in the parliament.
As of May this year, Iran possesses approximately 400 kilograms of enriched uranium with a 60% enrichment level, technically very close to the 90% weapons-grade level.
Additionally, Iran’s Islamic Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf posted on social media that the United States must accept the rights outlined in Iran’s “14-point plan,” describing it as the only realistic path. Any deviation from this framework would be unlikely to produce tangible results and would only lead to repeated failures. He earlier stated that Iran’s armed forces are prepared to respond to any invasion.
Recently, Iran formally submitted its latest response to the United States, aimed at ending the conflict, to Pakistan, which acts as a mediator, focusing on ending the war and maritime security in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. President Trump subsequently expressed dissatisfaction with Iran’s response, calling it completely unacceptable. An internal U.S. government source said that due to the lack of progress in U.S.-Iran negotiations, the U.S. is now considering resuming military actions against Iran more seriously than in recent weeks.
