🇰🇵 From 2016 to early 2026, North Korea-related hacker groups stole approximately $6.75 billion in digital assets across 263 incidents, according to CertiK experts. The scale of losses is likely underestimated, as it does not account for hundreds of minor attacks against individuals and projects in the early days of the industry.

In 2025, entities supported by Pyongyang caused $2.06 billion in damage to the industry, accounting for about 60% of the total figure. Meanwhile, they were responsible for only 12% of the attacks.

"North Korea has turned cryptocurrency theft into a key mechanism for generating government revenue, operating on a scale and with a level of coordination unmatched in the digital asset ecosystem," emphasized CertiK specialists.
