I realize that FOMO in crypto is actually a very common psychology, especially among newcomers to the market. When they see others making profits, fear missing out, fear losing money—these emotions often push you into hasty decisions.
In fact, what is FOMO in crypto if not the fear of missing out that causes investors to lose their composure? When falling into this mindset, you'll find yourself easily agitated, wanting to trade immediately, always eager to wait for quick profits. The concerning point is that these people often lack sufficient knowledge and just follow the crowd, listen to information from low-quality groups without thinking carefully.
Looking at the causes, I clearly see that lack of knowledge is the biggest problem. When the market rises, new traders quickly make profits, then they become complacent and enter the market without understanding it thoroughly. When the market drops, they fall into crisis. Additionally, accessing information from unofficial sources, chasing the crowd without a specific plan—all these are main reasons why FOMO in crypto becomes a major issue.
The way to escape this mindset isn't too complicated. First, you need to genuinely update your knowledge about the market before participating. Receive selective information, prioritize official sources from projects rather than listening to unverified Facebook or Zalo groups. When you see an opportunity, pause, analyze which phase the market is in before deciding.
Most importantly, you must have a clear strategy. Define StopLoss, TakeProfit, entry point, and capital allocation plan before entering a trade. Manage your emotions, develop patience, and stay consistent with your initial decision. A small tip is to limit watching token prices too frequently because the more often you look, the more easily you are influenced by market volatility.
Finally, you can listen to others' opinions to get a comprehensive view, but absolutely do not let others decide for you. What works for the majority may not suit you. Keep yourself alert, especially in the crypto market, to protect your capital and assets.
