The Polish House of Representatives has begun reviewing four competitive cryptocurrency legislation bills, originating from the government, President Karol Nawrocki, the Poland 2050 party, and the Confederation party. Previously, Nawrocki had vetoed related crypto legislation twice. Reports indicate that the main differences between the government and presidential versions focus on the Polish Financial Supervision Authority’s account freezing authority and the scale of statutory penalties. The presidential version maintains a maximum fine of 20 million zloty (approximately $5.5 million), while the draft from the Ministry of Finance raises the maximum fine to 25 million zloty (about $6.9 million). Meanwhile, Law and Justice (PiS) lawmakers withdrew their support for their April crypto market regulation bill and submitted a separate proposal to ban crypto activities within Poland. House Speaker Włodzimierz Czarzasty stated that PiS’s ban proposal will be reconsidered after the four main regulatory bills are processed. (The Block)
