Recently, I was reviewing some of the most interesting Chinese cryptocurrencies on the market, and honestly, there are projects that deserve much more attention than they receive.
Let's start with NEO, which is basically what many call China's Ethereum. The idea is quite solid: building an intelligent digital economy through smart contracts and verifiable digital identity. It is currently trading around $3.19 with a market capitalization of about $224M. It’s the kind of project that has solid fundamentals for decentralized DApps.
Next is Conflux, which I find particularly interesting because it is one of the few blockchain projects with official approval within China. They use a mechanism called Tree-Graph that allows for impressive speeds. Right now, it’s at $0.06 with a market cap around $327M. They are focusing on Web3, digital identity, and collaborations with governments, which is quite different from most projects.
VeChain is probably the most well-known on this list. Its focus on supply chain is genuinely useful: tracking products from origin to consumer. You see it applied in industry, fashion, automobiles, food. Currently at $0.01 with a market cap of $648M, it’s interesting that it has the largest cap among these.
Ontology focuses on digital identity and secure data management. Basically, it helps companies build decentralized verification systems. It’s at $0.06 with a market cap of $63M. It’s smaller, but the use case is legitimate.
And finally, QTUM, which combines the best of Bitcoin with Ethereum’s programmability. It offers an interesting balance for developing decentralized applications with performance and flexibility. It’s trading at $1.01 with a market cap of $107M.
What catches my attention is that these Chinese cryptocurrencies have very specific use cases and are not just speculation. If you’re looking to diversify your portfolio beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum, it’s worth keeping an eye on them. The data I see today shows moderate movements in the market, but the long-term potential of these projects is something many traders are beginning to recognize.
