I just completed a cross-chain transfer, and the moment I clicked confirm, I suddenly became a bit more alert: who do I really trust… The chain itself, that messaging relay/validation system, the bridge contract, and don’t give me a fake address on the front end. With IBC sounding “native,” you still need to see if the other chain’s light client and relay are dropping the ball — in other words, it’s just adding a bunch of “things that could go wrong” people. Recently, bridges have been hacked again, and oracles have even had abnormal quotes, everyone pretending to be calm and “waiting for confirmation,” but really just waiting for the trust chain to not break. Don’t chase after hot soup, first see if it’s hot, I’ll just cross a few fewer times for now.
