Just realized the Laszlo Hanyecz pizza transaction from 2010 is hitting different now. That guy spent 10,000 BTC on two pizzas back then, and if he'd held, that'd be worth over a billion today. Wild to think about. Bitcoin just crushed through to a new all-time high of $126K recently, and when you look at the price history, the journey is insane. From basically nothing in 2010 to where we are now in 2026. The Laszlo Hanyecz story is always the first thing people bring up when they talk about early Bitcoin adoption. Those Pizza Day prices tell the whole story: 2010 was $0.004, then it crawled to $6 in 2011, stayed pretty low through the early years, but once 2017 hit, things got crazy. Went from $2K to the thousands, and now we're looking at over $100K. The volatility in between is wild too, like the $37K spike in 2021 and the dip to $26K in 2023, but the overall trend is just up. Laszlo Hanyecz probably doesn't regret it anymore though, since he's basically a legend in crypto history now.
