Recently, I needed to register on a bunch of overseas websites and found that using a real phone number was too troublesome. Later, I discovered the existence of SMS verification platforms. To be honest, I’ve run into quite a few pitfalls before—some platforms simply don’t receive texts at all, others have delays of half a day, and only after some trial and error did I find a few decent ones.

The most stable ones I’ve used are SMS-Activate and 5SIM. These two verification platforms cover a wide range of countries, and the verification code usually arrives within 10 seconds, making them suitable for cross-border testing. For domestic applications, Super Cloud SMS and XiaoNiao Verification are also good options; Chinese number segments typically get a response within 5-20 seconds. If you’re only using it lightly, Getsmscode is inexpensive and also usable.

When using verification platforms, there are a few pitfalls to avoid: shared numbers are easily registered by others, verification codes for less popular platforms may be delayed, and don’t just pick a platform based on price without consideration. My experience is to load several numbers, so if one becomes invalid, you can switch immediately. Some platforms support one-click number switching, which is very convenient. Also, it’s best to use verification platforms only for testing or privacy protection, not as your main long-term number.

Honestly, verification platforms are mainly for temporary use, ideal for scenarios like privacy protection and avoiding spam ads. But be sure to use them legally—don’t use them for illegal activities. Have you used verification platforms before? Which platform has the best experience?
