I wonder how few people know about Kimball Musk, despite his significant influence. The guy clearly lives in the shadow of his brother, although he is quite notable in his own right.
First, about Kimball himself — he is a 52-year-old billionaire with a net worth of around 700 million dollars. Most of his wealth comes from shares in Tesla, which he owns. But here’s the funny part — he recently criticized Trump on X, expressing his opinion on his tariff policies. The post was quite sharp, criticizing the introduction of taxes on consumers. And yes, he indirectly criticized his brother Elon as well.
Visually, Kimball and Elon look alike — both were born in Pretoria, have the same square jawline, straight nose, and green eyes. But there’s one feature that sets the younger brother apart — he constantly wears a cowboy hat. That’s his signature style.
Regarding the family, they had a complicated history with Elon. Along with sister Tosca (she is 50 years old), they experienced violence from their father, which led their mother Maya to divorce in 1979. After that, the family emigrated to Canada, then to the United States.
An interesting fact — both brothers co-founded Zip2, a startup for business software. They developed it and sold it in 1999 to Compaq for 307 million dollars. Not a bad start for both.
So Kimball Musk is not just the brother of a famous entrepreneur, but an independent businessman with his own story and stance. Although he remains in Elon’s shadow, his activities deserve attention.
