Have you heard this story about Sahar Tabar? This Iranian woman was all over the media a few years ago because she supposedly had 50 plastic surgeries to look like Angelina Jolie. But then it turned out that the whole thing was actually a joke.
The crazy part is that she really looked zombie-like in the photos, like out of a horror movie. Sahar Tabar looked completely disfigured in the pictures. But in the end, it was just extreme retouching and makeup. Not 50 surgeries, just digital tricks and clever makeup.
I find it quite funny how quickly the media jumped on it. Everyone spread the headlines without really checking. Does that tell you something about internet culture?
