Just realized we're now in the final stretch—the bitcoin halving countdown is officially ticking. April 17, 2028 is locked in. That's when the block reward drops from 3.125 BTC to 1.5625 BTC. Less than two years away.
Looking at the current price action around $80.88K, I keep thinking about what actually matters here. Most people are obsessed with price movements in USD, but that's the wrong lens entirely. The real question isn't whether BTC goes to $100K or $50K—it's how many Bitcoin you actually own.
This is what separates the signal from the noise. When you start measuring wealth in BTC instead of dollars, all the daily volatility suddenly becomes irrelevant. A 10% dip? That's just noise if you're thinking in Bitcoin. What matters is accumulation.
I've been studying the patterns, and the historical playbook is hard to ignore. After the 2012 halving, BTC moved from $12 to $1,100. The 2016 halving saw it go from $650 to $20,000. Then 2020: $9,000 to $69,000. Three halvings, three massive runs. The mechanism is simple—supply tightens, scarcity deepens, and eventually price catches up to value.
There's this old value investor, Walter Schloss, who spent 47 years on Wall Street under Benjamin Graham. His strategy was almost comically simple: find assets trading way below their real value, then wait. From 1956 to 2000, his funds averaged 15.3% annually—crushing the S&P 500. When people asked if he ever panicked during crashes, he'd say something like, "Why would I be afraid? If I'm buying value, lower prices are good news."
That mentality is exactly what the bitcoin halving countdown should trigger in us. When fear hits, when prices drop, when everyone's questioning Bitcoin's future—that's when the real opportunity appears. Every dip is just the market offering cheaper Bitcoin. Every halving adds another layer of scarcity to what you're holding.
The pattern is clear: don't fight the cycles. Use dollar-cost averaging to stack sats through the noise. Trust the supply mechanics. Believe in the scarcity model. The halving logic hasn't changed, and it won't change in 2028.
We've got less than 721 days until this thing happens. The question isn't whether it'll matter—it's whether you'll be ready when it does.
