just realized a lot of people don't actually know what 1 k means when they see numbers online lol. like if someone says they made 100k last month, that's 100,000. the 'k' literally just stands for 'kilo' which means thousand. so 1k = 1,000, 10k = 10,000, pretty straightforward right?

then you got million and billion which get thrown around all the time especially in crypto and youtube. 1 million is 1,000,000 (that's a lot of zeros), and 1 billion is literally 1,000,000,000. honestly when you're scrolling through social media and see someone talking about getting millions of views or followers, now you know they're talking about those huge numbers.

this stuff matters if you're doing anything online honestly. whether it's freelancing, youtube, or trading crypto, these terms pop up constantly. once you get what 1 k means and how million and billion work, reading financial data or social media stats becomes way less confusing. just a quick mental note that could save you from looking confused in group chats 😅
