I noticed an interesting story about how much MrBeast earns and how he managed to build such a massive empire. The guy literally redefined what it means to be a successful YouTuber in the 2020s.
He takes his income seriously. A few years ago, Donaldson was the highest-paid YouTuber in the world — in 2021, his video content brought in approximately $54 million, and forecasts for 2022 reached up to $110 million. Forbes valued his personal wealth at $500 million. But the most interesting part is not just YouTube. It’s an entire ecosystem.
The content studio in Greenville became the center of everything. He doesn’t have just one channel, but a whole set: the main MrBeast with 142 million subscribers, then Beast Reacts (22.5 million), MrBeast Gaming (32 million), Beast Philanthropy (12.6 million), and several smaller projects. All of this is produced in one place, where about 50 people work — writers, editors, assistants. Some of the team are his friends and family, who have been with him from the very beginning.
The restaurant business also shows how much MrBeast earns and how he knows how to scale ideas. MrBeast Burger launched in 2020 as a virtual restaurant — you order through an app, and it’s prepared in partner cafes. In three months, they sold over a million burgers. Now the network has grown to over 300 locations in the US and other countries. In 2022, he even opened the first full offline restaurant.
Then came snacks through Feastables — MrBeast Bar chocolate and cookies, sold online and at Walmart. The launch was grand: prize draws, golden tickets in chocolates, a dessert contest with Gordon Ramsay. In the first few months, sales exceeded $10 million.
What really impresses is his approach to scaling. Donaldson even gave lectures at Harvard Business School. His philosophy is simple: don’t focus on becoming a billionaire, just make your company cool. And it seems to work — in 2022, he’s seeking investors for a stake in the studio, valuing it at $1.5 billion.
This is how one YouTube channel grows into a whole business empire. How much MrBeast earns is no longer just a question about video content; it’s a question about scaling ideas across different industries.
