Just scrolled through Bitcoin's price history and it's wild to see how far we've come. On January 1st this year, BTC was sitting at $87,850. That was already a massive jump from the $43,188 we saw at the start of 2024, and even crazier compared to the $3,694 back in 2019.
Looking at the bigger picture, the current bitcoin price trajectory shows how volatile this asset has been over the years. From just $0.30 in 2011 to nearly $94k at the beginning of 2025—absolutely mental when you think about it. Even the so-called "crashes" like 2018's $13,417 or 2022's $46,985 are still multiples of what early adopters paid.
It's May now and we're trading around $80.86k, so there's been some pullback from January's levels. But honestly, looking at this full timeline from 2011 onwards, the overall trend is pretty undeniable. Every January 1st snapshot tells a story of how the market's evolved. Makes you wonder what January 2027 will look like.
