My friend sent a message in the middle of the night, I opened it, and my finger froze.

"Be honest with me, did you get involved with high-interest loans? I looked at the calendar on your desk, and on the 15th of this month, you circled it with a red pen and wrote 'kill,' then crossed out a word afterward. I even drafted a police report message, just waiting to send it. Just reply to me, don’t scare me."
I stared at the screen in a daze for ten seconds. Then I replied:
That’s "killing sheep." Downstairs at the wet market, they slaughter live sheep, and my mom asked me to get up early to grab a lamb leg.
The other person was typing… for two minutes straight. Finally, they only sent one line:
"Fuck, almost called 110. Sleep now, sleep now, so embarrassing."
That pot of lamb leg simmered for three hours, and the whole building was filled with aroma. In the end, I didn’t finish eating and threw it away. Just like this friendship, at its most intense, no one expected it would cool down later.
It’s been three years since that happened. We haven’t spoken in two years.
Now I open his avatar, and the chat window is completely empty. The last message was still "Bro, I’m busy now, talk later."
That "later," has been over 700 days.
I’ve been tapping, deleting, and hesitating for half an hour. Should I send it, or not?
