🇺🇸 The U.S. Senate has brought Kevin Warsh closer to becoming the head of the Federal Reserve (ФРС). Senators voted to end debate on his nomination 49-44, clearing the way for final approval as early as this week.➠ Kevin Warsh previously served on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve (Совет управляющих ФРС) from 2006 to 2011 and is seen as a proponent of a tougher policy to fight inflation.➠ During the hearings, he said he had not promised Donald Trump to cut the interest rate and pledged to keep the Federal Reserve independent.➠ At the same time, Democrats fear that the White House’s influence over the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy (ДКП ФРС) will grow after his appointment.

P.S. Jerome Powell’s term as head of the Federal Reserve (ФРС) ends on May 15. However, his separate term as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve (Совет управляющих ФРС) lasts longer — until January 31, 2028.
