Thinking Machines Lab introduces a full-duplex interaction model with a response time of 0.4 seconds
Techub News reports that, according to TechCrunch, AI startup Thinking Machines Lab, founded by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, announced the launch of interaction models on Monday. The technology uses a “full duplex” architecture, capable of processing user input and generating responses simultaneously, enabling real-time two-way conversation experiences similar to phone calls, rather than the traditional turn-based AI response mode. The model is named TML-Interaction-Small, with a response time of only 0.40 seconds, approaching natural human conversation speed and significantly faster than comparable models from OpenAI and Google. Currently, this technology remains in research preview and has not been made available to the public. The company plans to release a limited research preview in the coming months and conduct a broader release later this year.
