In April 2026, GAC Honda only sold 5,100 vehicles.

More than a decade ago, the Accord, Odyssey, and Guandao were representative models for middle-class families, but now Japanese cars are all struggling to sell.
At its peak, GAC Honda sold tens of thousands of cars a month as a matter of course; yet in just one month, sales fell off a cliff—down 80.6% month-on-month and 72.42% year-on-year—with no cushioning at all left behind.
This June, GAC Honda’s Huangpu plant will officially shut down, and by 2027, Dongfeng Honda’s Wuhan plant is very likely to be suspended as well.
Now the market no longer listens to Honda’s stories.
