HKEX: IPO Fundraising Amount Reaches HKD 151.4 Billion in First Four Months, Up 604% Year-on-Year

According to a report by Golden Finance, on May 9, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) announced that the total market capitalization of the securities market was HKD 48.0 trillion at the end of April 2026, an increase of 24% year-on-year. The average daily trading amount in April 2026 was HKD 253.5 billion. The average daily trading amount for the first four months of 2026 was HKD 271.1 billion, up 8% year-on-year. The average daily trading amount for exchange-traded funds in the first four months of 2026 was HKD 39.1 billion, an increase of 5% year-on-year. There were 49 new companies listed in the first four months of 2026, a rise of 158% compared to 19 in the same period last year. The total amount raised from initial public offerings (IPOs) in the first four months of 2026 was HKD 151.4 billion, a significant increase of 604% year-on-year.
