CITIC Securities: Supply and demand benefits resonate, opening upward space for lithium prices

CITIC Securities research report states that recent disruptions in Africa’s lithium resource supply have not been resolved, and domestic lithium mica supply may face new variables. Greenbushes lithium mine has lowered its full-year production guidance, and marginal increases in South American lithium salt exports are declining. Overall supply is expected to contract over the next 2-3 months. Demand for power and energy storage batteries is expected to exceed expectations by 2026, with lithium battery production in May increasing month-on-month. CITIC Securities predicts that the combined positive supply and demand factors may drive lithium prices up to 250k yuan per ton in the next 2-3 months.
