According to the FBI San Francisco Field Office, three men are now facing multiple federal felony charges, including kidnapping, robbery, and conspiracy, for allegedly conducting cross-state serial violent robberies of cryptocurrency. The indictment states that the three are suspected of disguising themselves as delivery personnel to enter or attempt to enter victims' residences, using guns, tape, and zip ties to coerce victims into revealing their crypto account information; in one incident, approximately $6.5 million worth of crypto assets were transferred to a wallet controlled by the co-conspirator. All three are currently in federal custody, and the related charges are still pending court review.
