Breaking News from Mars Finance, May 12 — According to The Wall Street Journal, informed officials revealed that President Trump privately complained to Acting Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche last month about media leaks following the Iran war, which prompted the Department of Justice to actively pursue related investigations.
An official said that during a meeting, Trump handed Blanche a stack of news articles he and other senior officials believed threatened national security, with a sticky note labeled “Treason” attached.
According to informed officials, senior DOJ officials have met with Pentagon liaison officers to discuss the investigation.
On April 3, a U.S. fighter jet was shot down over Iran, followed by a large-scale rescue operation to find two missing pilots.
Shortly afterward, Trump publicly vowed to investigate the source of leaks regarding the downed aircraft, stating that the government would take action against an unnamed news outlet reporting the information.
An administrative official said that the stack of news articles Trump provided to the acting deputy attorney general was precisely about these rescue operations.
The official stated that the president and other officials believed that the leak could jeopardize the success of the rescue.
