Spurred by this, Brent crude oil jumped 5% to $105 per barrel, and WTI crude oil rose nearly 6% to $100. All three major U.S. stock index futures weakened across the board, with Dow futures, S&P 500 futures, and Nasdaq 100 futures falling by approximately 0.21%, 0.13%, and 0.08%, respectively. Scott Rubner of Citadel Securities warned that U.S. stocks are being propped up only by a small number of technology stocks, and that the market structure has concentration risks.



Korean stocks surged across the board at the open and kept climbing sharply. The South Korea KOSPI index rocketed more than 5% to hit 7,870 points, a record high. The futures contracts also triggered a circuit breaker due to the 5% surge. JPMorgan is extremely bullish, raising its South Korea KOSPI target for the second time in less than a month, forecasting that in a bull-market scenario the KOSPI index will target the 10,000-point mark. Goldman Sachs also raised its target to 9,000 points last week.
