Zhang Rongxuan Gets 6 Years 10 Months for $1.7M USDT Seed Phrase Theft
Zhang Rongxuan was sentenced to six years and 10 months in prison for stealing about 1.7 million USDT from a friend’s cold wallet. Zhang obtained the victim’s apartment access card at a social gathering and entered the empty home to photograph the wallet’s seed phrase. Zhang later pleaded guilty to charges including computer misuse and money laundering, and the court said sufficient restitution had not been made.
