The first full switch to the new generation Bitcoin node software in a mining pool——

TAAL and GorillaPool are early mining pools that jointly tested and used Teranode for mining on the mainnet. TALL is entirely self-owned computing power, a company under CA, while GorillaPool also supports community client hash power access and is unrelated to CA funds. TAAL has been running Teranode with a small amount of hash power, and GorillaPool, after stable operation for some time, took the lead in a full switch, accounting for about 10% of mining share. The key milestones of Teranode—from mining the first block on the mainnet, to stable operation on the mainnet, to open-source code, and finally to the first mining pool fully switching—are of great historical and technical significance.
The fundamental architectural change introduced by Teranode on the miner side essentially means: for the first time in a production-level Bitcoin system, a mining pool operates using a commercial-grade microservice architecture node to replace the traditional monolithic bitcoind implementation. This marks a clear technological generational difference from the early Satoshi implementation of the monolithic bitcoind architecture: shifting from a monolithic process (monolithic daemon) to a modular, scalable, high-concurrency microservice node system designed for industrial throughput and enterprise deployment capabilities.
Industry significance
Once infrastructure reaches this architectural level, the logic for miners and mining pools will also change: no longer just “can the node run mining,” but evaluating: throughput stability SLA scalability enterprise-level operational capabilities.
Therefore, miners or pools that can deploy Teranode in the mainnet production environment first are essentially testing the feasibility boundaries of the next-generation Bitcoin infrastructure.
GorillaPool Official Announcement (organized translation)
GorillaPool official account MineLikeAnApe announced:
Today is an important moment.
GorillaPool has achieved native execution of GorillaNode.
This means we are the first “Teranode-first” miner in the BSV network.
The current system still retains SV Node as a synchronization node and enables an automatic fallback mechanism when necessary.
But from now on:
All hash power partners and the pool’s own infrastructure will operate primarily with Teranode as the main execution path.
Our goal is to become the first miner in Bitcoin history to completely phase out bitcoind-style monolithic implementations.
It is an honor to participate as early testers and development partners in engineering collaboration with the BSV Association.
We also expect a larger-scale systematic expansion phase in the second half of 2026.
