Just saw a really outrageous case ruling, Gary Wang really walked away unscathed. Do you remember the FTX scandal? It went bankrupt overnight at the end of 2022, and at that time, he was the CTO. He chose to cooperate with the investigation and testify in court, and the judge directly said, "I've never seen anything like this," ultimately avoiding jail.
In contrast, the founder was sentenced to 25 years, but Gary Wang, because he admitted his mistakes in time and stood on the side of the law, managed to dodge prison. The prosecutors even praised him as "the most cooperative key witness." This guy knew the founder since high school, studied together at MIT, then started a business together, and in the end, he chose to repent.
It's quite interesting—participating in the same event, but choosing a different ending makes all the difference. Gary Wang's move was indeed clever.
