Recently, I've been looking into the development of NFT games and have realized that in these past few years, people's perceptions of gaming have changed quite a bit. After the pandemic, everyone was forced to shift online, and during this time, NFT games gradually gained popularity, providing many people with opportunities to earn money while playing.
I’ve compiled a list of 10 representative titles, some of which are free NFT games that beginners can jump into directly. First, let's talk about Axie Infinity. This game is especially popular in the Philippines, mainly by raising digital pets to compete and earn SLP tokens. Although initially you need to invest in buying three Axies, once you get the hang of it, the earnings can be quite substantial.
If you like card games, Splinterlands and Gods Unchained are worth trying. Gods Unchained is unique because it’s a free NFT game, requiring no upfront investment; you can earn cards by winning PvP battles, which is very friendly for newcomers. Splinterlands, on the other hand, requires purchasing an initial deck, but cards can be traded or rented, offering more flexibility.
Looking for more creative freedom? Sandbox is your choice. It’s a 3D open-world game, somewhat like a combination of Minecraft and Roblox, where you can build virtual land and assets and then sell them for profit using SAND tokens.
There are also some more unique titles, such as Samurai Doge, an artful combat game where each samurai governor is one-of-a-kind. Battle Racers is inspired by Mario Kart, allowing players to assemble their own racing cars for competitions. CryptoSnake brings the classic snake game onto the blockchain, where the longer the snake, the higher the APR yield—this design is quite interesting.
Neon District is a cyberpunk-style adventure game where you send teams to deliver pizzas and earn Neon tokens. Gold Fever is a survival exploration game that involves mining gold in complex environments. Guild of Guardians is a fantasy combat-themed game; although it’s a free NFT game that can be played directly, buying heroes and equipment can speed up progress.
Honestly, the NFT gaming ecosystem is now quite mature, with options ranging from completely free entry to those requiring investment. The key is to find the game type that suits you best. Some people enjoy simulation, some prefer competitive play, and others like creative building—there are plenty of choices. In the future, NFT games will only become more numerous, and the era of playing games while earning money has indeed arrived.
