Recently, the movements of Yield Guild Games (YGG) have become quite interesting. They have established a new game publishing division called YGG Play and launched their first blockchain game, "Roland."

This game is a casual guessing game built on the Pudgy Penguins' Abstract chain, and it reportedly received over 1 million pre-registrations even before launch. It is a browser-based board game with four themed maps, including YGG City, and features Pudgy Penguins IP characters integrated into the game.

There are two game modes: a free mode without token rewards and a paid mode where players purchase gameplay time to earn YGG tokens. The total prize pool for the paid mode is said to be around $10 million. Currently, the YGG token price is approximately $0.05, with a 24-hour change rate of about -3.44%.

What I personally find noteworthy is YGG's strategic shift. Previously, they were a guild investing in projects from an investor's perspective, but now they are taking on the role of developers themselves, shifting away from the mainstream market and focusing on casual crypto players. YGG founder Gabby Dizon mentioned that this game was designed with crypto-native users who are already familiar with NFT and meme coin trading in mind.

Seeing Yield Guild Games directly creating and launching a game like this gives me the impression that the blockchain gaming ecosystem is gradually moving toward tangible content competition.
