Haidian Court Sentences Doxing Operator to 7 Years in Virtual Currency Data Theft Case

Beijing’s Haidian District People’s Court disclosed a virtual currency-related doxing case in which the main defendant received a seven-year prison sentence after illegally obtaining more than 900 million pieces of citizen personal information. The court said the defendant built a social engineering database website with more than 170 million records and received virtual currency payments from selling the data.
