I looked at a poll result from CoinDesk, and I was a bit surprised. In a survey about the issues American voters care about most in the 2026 midterm elections, cryptocurrency only accounted for 1%, basically at the bottom. In comparison, people care more about the cost of living (36%) and employment and the economy (13%), which are the real livelihood issues.
Interestingly, although cryptocurrency is not a focus of the election, American voters' attitudes toward this topic are still divided. According to the same survey, only 27% have actually invested in or traded cryptocurrencies, while another 27% say they might try it in the future. Politically, 47% believe the Republican Party is more friendly toward crypto, while only 14% say the Democratic Party is. However, when it comes to managing crypto affairs, Democrats are slightly ahead (27% vs. 25%), and 40% of people distrust both parties.
The most interesting part is that, even though cryptocurrency isn't a major issue in the election, 40% of voters say they would prioritize voting for candidates who share their views on crypto. This indicates that, although it may not be the primary factor when voting, the influence of this issue is gradually permeating American politics.
