Techub News reports that, according to crypto.news, the Osmosis community is re-discussing a merger proposal with Cosmos Hub, planning to convert tokens at a rate of 1.998 OSMO for 0.0355 ATOM, funded by DEX revenue. This news caused the OSMO token to rise 185% within 24 hours on May 11. The original proposal was released in March 2026, aiming to integrate Osmosis’s liquidity, governance, and security into Cosmos Hub, but it narrowly failed in governance voting in mid-April. The revised version plans to cancel the new ATOM minting and instead fund the conversion using Osmosis trading revenue to mitigate dilution risks for ATOM holders. If the revised proposal is approved by governance from both sides, it will set a precedent for integrating other independent chains within the Cosmos ecosystem.
