Lately, everyone’s been hyping AI Agents that automatically run strategies on-chain. To be honest, I’d rather move a bit slower. From the surface, the on-chain layer looks calm, but underneath there are a ton of hidden undercurrents: a single authorization signature could hand over the wallet; if routing changes or a contract gets upgraded, the agent may still run on the old logic—so when something goes wrong, it won’t be obvious or “hurt” anyone immediately. There are also those addresses with abnormal activity that look like normal transactions on the surface, with a bit of implicit leverage mixed in—the kind of signal machines are most likely to chase.

For me, human “backstopping” has only three things: signature/permissions (whether you can avoid granting unlimited authorization), capital boundaries (single-transaction/daily limits—better to earn less), and a “stop button” (pause when on-chain suddenly gets congested, gas spikes chaotically, or slippage turns weird). As for the outside world constantly tying together ETF capital flows, US stock risk appetite, and crypto prices for interpretation… I just listen. It feels more like an emotional barometer, not an instruction. A half-step slower at least means you’re less likely to be pulled along.
