Iranian conflict leads to "oil shortage and ink scarcity" - a well-known Japanese snack company announces it will switch to black and white packaging

As a tangible manifestation of the impact of the Iran war on oil supply, news broke late Monday night Tokyo time that Japanese snack manufacturer Calbee will change the packaging of several of its flagship products to black and white due to an inability to secure supplies of colored ink for printing. According to the sample images provided by the company, this change seems to go beyond just black and white printing, as the potato chips and cartoon mascot images on the packaging have also disappeared.
