In 2025, the national autumn grain purchase exceeded 338 million tons

According to the latest data released by the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration in Beijing on May 10, as reported by Xinhua News Agency (Reporter Gu Yiping), autumn grain procurement during the peak season of 2025 ended at the end of April this year. The cumulative procurement of autumn grain by all types of grain business entities nationwide exceeded 338 million tons, a level that is relatively high in recent years. Overall, the procurement generally shows characteristics of fast progress, active buying and selling, and rising prices.
According to preliminary statistics, in total, 103 million tons of medium- and late-season rice, 222 million tons of corn, and 12.99 million tons of soybeans were procured. Henan, Hunan, and Heilongjiang provinces launched the execution plans for the minimum purchase price of medium- and late-season rice, and the total procurement under the minimum purchase price involved 4.18 million tons of medium- and late-season rice.
It is reported that this season’s autumn grain shows even more clearly the features of high quality and premium pricing: the price of high-quality flavor rice reaches 3,200 yuan per ton, and the price of high-quality high-protein soybeans exceeds 5,000 yuan per ton.
