Recently, I came across a pretty interesting blockchain game project idea. Instead of calling it a traditional Play-to-Earn game, Kingdomverse is trying a more balanced approach — truly prioritizing the gaming experience, with tokens and NFTs as additional incentives rather than the sole selling points.

Their first game, "Defend the Kingdom," is a casual tower defense PvP game that lasts 5 to 10 minutes per round, with fast-paced gameplay and simple controls, making it easy for even non-blockchain gamers to pick up. The game features dozens of upgradeable and evolvable combat characters, supporting single-player challenges as well as team play with friends. With seasonal updates, they plan to add new missions, enemies, and heroes, and even collaborate with other IPs to introduce new characters.

The ambition behind this is for Kingdomverse to build a "mobile game metaverse" — integrating multiple casual mobile games into a social gaming space. Compared to many blockchain games on the market that only tell stories but have outdated gameplay and slow updates, Kingdomverse emphasizes continuous content iteration and player interaction. They are working with several top-tier game studios to ensure a steady stream of gaming experiences and rewards for players.

The core logic is quite clear: games are fundamentally entertainment, not work. So instead of chasing high profits, it’s better to focus on making the game fun. Players enjoy the game while earning tokens or NFT assets, which can be used throughout the entire Kingdomverse ecosystem in the future. This "Play-to-Own" approach is, to some extent, a reflection on the current chaos in blockchain gaming.

Interestingly, they care more about whether they can truly build a cohesive community rather than short-term hype. If Kingdomverse can maintain this rhythm and genuinely integrate multiple IPs and game assets, this ecosystem could become an intriguing experiment in the casual blockchain gaming space. Worth paying attention to.
