Polls show crypto distrust could make it a liability in 2026 midterms

Public First polling for Politico found that 47% of Americans trust a traditional bank over a crypto platform, while 17% trust a crypto platform as much as a bank. Michael Beckel of Issue One and Rick Claypool of Public Citizen said broader voter awareness of crypto and AI lobbying could raise political costs for candidates tied to those industries.
