Iranian Official Denies Reports of 'US Attack on Iranian Civilian Ships Causing Multiple Disappearances'
On May 9, the mayor of Lengeh County in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran, denied earlier reports regarding ‘US fighter jets attacking several Iranian cargo and fishing boats near the port of Seeb in the Oman Sea.’ The reports claimed that six ships were attacked, resulting in six people missing and six injured. In an interview, the mayor stated that some media outlets had published related information in his name that ‘is not true.’ He emphasized that, to date, the relevant authorities have not released any official or verified information or statistics regarding such attack incidents.
