Ripple lawsuit has made some progress again. It is said that a new trial schedule has been set with the SEC. Looking at the schedule letter jointly submitted by litigation experts, there are some quite interesting points.
In August, they plan to submit preparatory briefs for summary judgment and the Expert Challenge, and aim to finalize the response briefs before Christmas. But here’s the strange part: why did Ripple agree to such a tight schedule for the SEC trial? According to lawyer Philan, an expert in SEC litigation, there must have been some kind of deal between the parties. Originally, the preparation period was supposed to be longer, but it seems Ripple conceded.
Thinking about it, Ripple probably wants to finish this trial schedule quickly. The longer it drags on, the more uncertainty increases. I think that’s a wise decision. Anyway, it’s important that the SEC trial is starting to move concretely.
