I recently watched an interview with Elon Musk, and he said something particularly worth pondering. It’s quite interesting; his logic for success isn’t that complicated—there are just two key words: curiosity.
In the interview, Musk repeatedly emphasized that he’s never the type to have all the answers figured out before taking action. On the contrary, he’s used to asking why, asking how, and then just moving forward. When others say it’s impossible, he insists on trying. This way of thinking sounds simple, but very few people actually practice it.
You can understand this by looking at what he’s done. From electric cars to rockets, from AI to brain-machine interfaces, each field was considered crazy by others, but Musk has the courage to tackle them. This isn’t recklessness; it’s an adventure built on deep curiosity. He wants to know why these things can’t be done, and then he actually goes ahead and does them.
I believe the core insight here is that what truly drives change in the world is never a sense of security or certainty, but a desire for the unknown, combined with the execution power to turn crazy ideas into reality. Musk embodies both of these qualities to the fullest.
This also explains why he can make waves in so many different fields. It’s not because he’s especially smart or lucky, but because he fundamentally trusts his curiosity and dares to keep moving forward where others see no hope. This mindset is more worth learning than any business strategy.
