Beijing Business Daily News (Reporter He Yue) — On May 11, the National Bureau of Statistics released data showing that in April this year, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for residents nationwide increased by 1.2% year-on-year. Among them, urban areas increased by 1.2%, rural areas increased by 1.0%; food prices decreased by 1.6%, non-food prices increased by 1.8%; consumer goods prices increased by 1.4%, service prices increased by 0.9%. From January to April, the average CPI for residents nationwide increased by 0.9% compared to the same period last year.

In April, the CPI increased by 0.3% month-on-month. Among them, urban areas increased by 0.3%, rural areas increased by 0.1%; food prices decreased by 1.6%, non-food prices increased by 0.7%; consumer goods prices increased by 0.1%, service prices increased by 0.5%.
