Cathay Pacific Flight CX253, originally scheduled to fly to London Heathrow this afternoon, experienced a possible mechanical issue after takeoff. The aircraft returned to Hong Kong International Airport following standard procedures and landed safely at 3:12 p.m. that afternoon.

Cathay Pacific stated that the engineering team is inspecting the aircraft, and all affected passengers have been rebooked on another flight operated by a different aircraft; since the replacement flight is expected to depart later tonight, all passengers have been accommodated in a daytime hotel for a short rest.

The airline emphasized that all decisions prioritize the safety of passengers and crew, sincerely apologizing for the inconvenience caused to passengers by the incident, and expressing heartfelt gratitude for their understanding and patience.
