Key Points of Iran's Response to the U.S.

On May 11, local time on the 10th, informed sources indicated the key points of Iran’s response to the U.S., which include a demand for the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control to lift sanctions related to Iranian oil sales within 30 days. The sources stated that the Iranian response previously disclosed by the U.S. was inconsistent with the facts in several important aspects, particularly regarding nuclear issues. Iran’s response emphasized that an agreement must be reached through political understanding, with an immediate end to the war, assurance against further attacks on Iran, and the cancellation of sanctions by the U.S. Additionally, Iran’s response addressed changes in its control over the Strait of Hormuz if the U.S. fulfills certain commitments. The sources noted that Iran stressed that after signing a preliminary understanding agreement, the U.S. must immediately lift its maritime blockade against Iran and lift sanctions on Iranian oil sales within 30 days. Iran’s response also included the unfreezing of Iranian assets by the U.S. based on the preliminary understanding reached by both parties, as well as the implementation of certain measures by the U.S. within 30 days.
