just saw this and had to share - some solo miner literally turned $75 into over $200k. like actually. they rented a petahash of computing power through CKPool and somehow managed to solve block 938,092 before all the massive mining operations. the odds on that are absolutely insane, basically finding one grain of sand on a beach. but apparently someone has to win every block, and luck doesn't care about the size of your operation. what's wild is this isn't even a one-off anymore. there have been 21 different solo miners pulling off blocks over the past year, grabbing 66 BTC total. that's a 17% jump from the year before. the barrier to entry is getting lower too since you can just rent hashrate on demand now instead of buying all that expensive hardware. no wonder more people are taking shots at it. the timing was perfect too - network difficulty had just spiked 15% to 144.4 trillion after that winter storm mess earlier in the month. still crazy odds, but this miner got lucky. that's the kind of lottery ticket I wish I could buy
