Bitcoin has looked good against the yellow metal this week. The particularly interesting part is that Bitcoin is managing this successfully while gold is experiencing a liquidity problem of a kind it has never faced before. Based on my observations in Asian markets, there is a serious liquidity squeeze in gold — which makes price movements more volatile.
Bitcoin, on the other hand, has a much more comfortable position in terms of liquidity. Thanks to its 24/7 trading and global liquidity pools, it remains unaffected by the kinds of issues gold is experiencing. It seems that this difference is becoming more apparent in the market. Morning briefings have already started to emphasize this as well.
