I just noticed something interesting: Over one billion dollars are flowing into Bitcoin ETFs, but the price isn't really moving. You would expect that, right? Usually, that much capital leads to movement.
An analyst explained to me what might be causing this. Apparently, not every Bitcoin ETF purchase is purely a price driver. Many of these ETFs buy Bitcoin on the market, but at the same time, other positions are being sold. It's like a large reallocation process — money is just changing form, not necessarily changing hands.
If you want to buy ETFs, you should understand that the amount of inflows doesn't automatically equate to price gains. Some ETF buyers are just reallocating existing positions. That also explains why, despite these large ETF inflows, we don't see explosive price movements.
Still, it's interesting: The fact that so many people want to buy ETFs shows strong institutional interest. Just not always with the expected direct price effect. Those who want to strategically buy ETFs should keep this dynamic in mind and not just look at the inflow numbers.
