been scrolling through the token graveyard lately and honestly it's wild how many projects just completely disappeared. apparently more than half of all crypto tokens have actually failed at this point, and the majority of those cryptocurrency failures happened just last year. like, think about that for a second - we're talking about a massive amount of projects that just... didn't make it.

seems like 2025 was particularly brutal for a lot of these tokens. you'd see projects launch with all this hype, community backing, whatever, and then boom - gone within months. the cryptocurrency failures we're seeing aren't even surprising anymore, it's just become part of how the market works. some had legit tech issues, others were just poorly managed, and yeah, some were probably just outright scams looking back.

it's kind of a reminder that not every project survives, and the ones that do tend to have something real backing them up. the whole space has been through so much consolidation that it almost feels like natural selection at this point. crazy to think about how many cryptocurrency failures we've watched unfold, but i guess that's what happens when you have thousands of tokens competing for attention and capital.
