I just realized that some of the biggest names in the financial world are currently investing quite aggressively in crypto — despite recent turbulence. Cathie Wood and other institutional players don’t seem to be getting nervous at all.
The underlying thesis is actually quite interesting: They don’t see the current crypto dip as the end, but as a temporary correction. For example, Cathie Wood has never shied away from going against the grain. With her and Cantor Fitzgerald, you can see that they are now using these dips to expand their positions.
What fascinates me is that big money clearly has a different perspective on the current situation than many retail investors. While many are panicking and selling, professionals like Cathie Wood simply keep buying. That’s classic contrarian thinking — and it has repeatedly worked during bull cycles.
The question that arises is: Do these institutional investors simply have a longer investment horizon, or do they see something that the broader market has not yet fully priced in? With Cathie Wood, I would lean toward the latter. She has repeatedly proven that she recognizes long-term trends earlier than others.
So, one could say that the current crypto market is probably just a buying opportunity for her and other big players. It will be interesting to see how this develops further.
