Been digging into some old market data lately, and 2014 really was a wild year for bitcoin price movements. It's actually pretty fascinating to look back at how volatile things were back then compared to now.
That period was basically the aftermath of the 2013 bull run, so bitcoin price in 2014 saw some serious corrections and consolidation. The Mt. Gox collapse happened that year too, which definitely shook confidence in the space. But what's interesting is how the market kept grinding through it.
I was reading about how different media outlets covered the bitcoin price action during that time. Some of the analysis from back then is pretty insightful when you compare it to what we know now. The whole ecosystem was way smaller, way more fragile, but also way more adventurous in terms of who was participating.
If you're into crypto history, going back and looking at bitcoin price charts from 2014 is honestly worth a few hours. You see the same patterns repeating - fear, capitulation, slow recovery. It's a good reminder that we've been through worse cycles before and the market found a way through.
Anyway, if anyone else has been researching that era, curious what patterns you noticed from the bitcoin price movements back then. Seems like a lot of newer traders don't realize how far we've come since those early days.
