Bitcoin's hovering around $80,800 right now but the momentum feels different this week. Asia's been pretty quiet on the bid side - not seeing the usual volume we'd expect to push it higher. Meanwhile Hong Kong's been lighting up with all these AI-related IPOs launching, which is kind of interesting when you think about how the blockchain IPO space is evolving there.
Noticed a few things: the pullback in Asian buying pressure is real, and it's making traders a bit cautious about whether we can actually hold above $80K. But on the flip side, you've got this whole new wave of Hong Kong companies going public with AI focuses, and some of them are tangentially connected to crypto infrastructure or blockchain tech in some way. It's creating this weird dynamic where traditional finance and crypto ecosystems are starting to overlap more.
Feels like we're in that zone where Bitcoin needs fresh catalyst to break higher. The Asia fade is notable, but if these blockchain-adjacent IPOs in Hong Kong gain traction, could signal renewed institutional interest in the whole space. Just watching how it plays out from here.
